Do you like to travel? Do you have an interest in working with cutting edge technology?

We are looking for an individual to join our NanoScience team as an Installation and Service Engineer.  In this role you can expect to travel throughout Europe, with some visits to the US and other regions when required. If you are a physicist who has experience of using OI or similar cryogenic instruments through your education or research and enjoy working in a hands-on role then we would love to hear from you.

The opportunity

In this role you can expect to travel to customer sites, where you will be responsible for the installation, service and repair of NanoScience products.  You will be our representative with the customer, ensuring that site visits are suitably planned for, products are installed safely, correctly and working to the customer’s satisfaction. Site reports must be completed in a timely fashion. You will receive training on how our instruments work, so that you can monitor them effectively as well as provide training to the customer to ensure that they have a full understanding of the how they operate.

About you

Whether you are applying as an experienced field engineer or from an educational/research environment, it is preferred that you will have prior experience of working with cryogenics, ideally OI instruments and have a strong background in physics.

A love of travel is a must, with the flexibility for overnight stays during the week and some weekends away from home. We also operate a weekend on call service for our key customers, so a willingness to cover these every 4 weeks is essential.

Benefits

In addition to a competitive starting salary, Oxford Instruments offers flexible working hours and a half-day on Fridays. We also offer 25 days annual leave, private healthcare, a share incentive plan, a defined contribution Group Personal Pension Plan, and a flexible benefits package that you can tailor to your own requirements. We also invest in our talented employees by supporting them in their ongoing career and development so that they reach their full potential. We care and work hard to provide a workplace where you can grow and learn.  #LI-JR1
