PhD Studentship - Universal Layered Triple-Route Architecture for Heterogeneous Quantum-Classical Security

This role involves developing ULTRA, a novel 'Trinity' security framework that integrates quantum key distribution, post-quantum cryptography, and classical security into a unified encryption system. The research focuses on designing a universal model, synchronising multi-layered security streams, and formally proving the system's resilience. The candidate will also gain academic experience by delivering undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in cybersecurity as part of a 60% research, 40% teaching split.

PhD Studentship: Building Heterogenous Quantum-Dot–Atom Repeaters: Photon Generation, Storage and Conversion for Quantum Networks

This PhD project focuses on developing hybrid quantum-dot and rubidium vapour interfaces for quantum communication networks. The student will work on device fabrication, cryogenic quantum-dot optics, and atomic-vapour experiments, gaining hands-on experience in quantum optics, semiconductor physics, and numerical modelling.
