Job Title: Senior Finance Analyst
Location: Hybrid role, but must be willing to travel to Harlow (Essex) occasionally
We are seeking a Senior Finance Analyst to join our Business Programme Finance department supporting the Weapons Finance and Business Teams.
The main focus of the role will be on be providing high quality business partnering and accurate, actionable financial analysis to the Weapons finance and programme teams. This will include tracking results against forecast and budget, maintenance of weekly/monthly financial reports, quarterly programme Estimate at Completion (EAC) production and guidance, and ad-hoc financial analysis.

Main Duties
Act as Finance lead to the programme teams, providing control and financial guidance Drive the timely completion of the quarterly programme EAC process Monthly forecasting process (Bookings, Sales, Profit, Cash) at both programme and business unit level Compiling, agreeing and disseminating financial targets and forecasts to programme managers to ensure forecasts are collaborative, understood and agreed prior to formal submission Management of monthly cash and Internal/External forecasting, understanding any variances to forecast Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts including commentary and analysis for inclusion in Management review packs Understand and communicate the link between programme and financial performance across the business fostering a business partnering relationship Work closely with Financial Planning and Analysis, Business Programme Finance and Central Finance Services, ensuring seamless communication on financial issues Providing financial insight to support the business risk & opportunities process (development, analysis, mitigation & review) Supporting business bids and proposals, and helping management of investment in new technologies Support the Annual Operating Plan and Long Ranged Plan, ensuring linkage with investment requirements Champion best practice and look to standardise and improve systems and processes Act as the “financial conscience” of the business and ensure Business and Financial Policy adherence Other ad-hoc analysis as required by the business and wider finance teams
Candidate Requirements
Qualified accountant (CIMA preferred) with proven relevant commercial experience in a similar defence or complex contracting environment Experience working in a fast paced matrix organization Previous experience in a business facing role, commercially astute and adept at strategic planning Proactive, analytical and inquisitive Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Highly organised and self-motivated Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure Have an existing security clearance or able & willing to achieve a level of security clearance

Attention to detail and process adherence. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Recognise the need for regular, concise and objective status reporting
Desirable
Degree or equivalent in a business/finance related discipline Defense Industry experience Project Accounting experience Experience of working with SAP, Cognos, MS Office Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Have an existing security clearance or able & willing to achieve a level of security clearance.
