Position Summary


The primary role of the Scientific Sales Development Representative is to drive new business for Tucsen Photonics, increase sales and help establish it as a respected brand in the United Kingdom.


The role is split into 2 parts, Sales Prospecting (80%) for which you will have a target and receive compensation, and Development (20%), where you will develop your product, application and sales knowledge to grow into an account executive based field sales position.


The position is designed for someone wanting to start a career in sales whilst remaining connected to the world of science and research.

Tucsen Photonics is a Scientific camera manufacturer who’s products are used in scientific and advanced inspections instruments and as part of advanced microscopy imaging techniques in universities and research institutions.


Single unit camera sales for microscopy applications for the US and EU are managed from our team in Birmingham the United Kingdom.


Tucsen Photonics employees over 200 people globally and has only recently expanded out of its home based of Asia, the UK team is a small but dynamic and provides excellent growth opportunities to the right candidate.


Essential Functions


Sales Prospecting (80%)


·      Conduct outbound prospecting through phone, email, and social media channels.

·      Represent Tucsen Photonics at industry events, engaging with potential prospects and building networks.

·      Qualify leads generated through outbound efforts to identify high-potential opportunities.

·      Arrange appointments and coordinate product demonstrations for Senior Sales Managers.

·      Collaborate closely with various worldwide departments, including Sales, Operations and Marketing, to align efforts and drive results.

·      Consistently meet or exceed performance KPIs and sales targets.

·      Gain a thorough understanding of the sales process and the tools necessary for success.

·      Begin identifying potential accounts for expansion or the introduction of new product lines.

·      Partner with mentors to establish personal goals and progress through the promotion process.

Working Conditions


  • Office based (Central Birmingham)
  • Flexible working schedule (start between 7am and 10am)
  • Flexible working location (20% work from home after probation)
  • Some travel as required
  • 25 days annual holiday
  • £24,000 base salary (On Target Earnings of £32,000)
  • Uncapped Commission
  • Drivers License preferred
