Job Outline:
An exciting and new opportunity has opened within a leading technology company based in North Wales. Qioptiq designs and manufactures photonic products and solutions that serve a wide range of markets and applications. We are looking for a Reclamation Engineering Operator to support the STAS Repair Cell, this will include proactively seeking savings and minimising waste by reclaiming unserviceable or broken items.
This role is employed as part of the STAS Team in all operational disciplines to ensure operational excellence, high productivity and customer satisfaction of KPIs are achieved.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake receipt and checking of stock in line with the company process, ensuring all disciplines are completed as appropriate, and products are correctly located within the warehouse. Conduct visual inspections and Functional Test and CES Check (FTCC) on receipt of all main equipment and selected spares and record the findings. Review and reclaim were possible all products, stock that are placed within the waste/reclamation stream. Have a proactive problem solving nature and be able to interaction with both internal and external customer requirements and deliver findings to resolve enquiries. Performs visual and dimensional inspection of multiple products for mechanical/electrical characteristics to documentation and compile written reports. Carry out checks and inspections against standards/drawings/specifications both company and customer set. Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost reduction and waste reduction. Set up a waste area and stream, complete with written process, with continued improvement and growth in mind. Maintenance and repair services, working alongside onsite resources with a view to waste stream operations and investigations, enquire on engineering matters to keep equipment operational with minimum expenditure or loss through wastage. Ensure all stock is stored, handled and transported securely and in line with company, MoD security, ITAR disciplines and health and safety legislation. Work within a team of colleagues to ensure the workplace environment is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness and that it always complies with company and legislative standards. Compliance with all ISO and Health and Safety legislation, ensuring reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions, ensuring all company safety and quality systems are followed and all relevant legislation complied with, raising concerns and reporting any incidents or suggestions. Willing to work overtime to meet business and customer needs when required and at short notice
Personal Specification:
It is essential that all candidates have the following:
A good level of general education (minimum of C grade or above in Maths and English at GCSE level). Are well organised and methodical with good attention to detail Inquisitive nature who is not afraid to challenge processes and procedures to improve cost reduction and waste. General knowledge/use of computers and Excel Ability to interact with a range of people supported by excellent communication skills. Experience of working in a team and working independently Successful candidates must be able to obtain full SC Clearance
The following attributes are considered desirable, but not essential for the role:
An understanding of MOD Dismounted Soldier Systems A technical background with strong analytical skills and practical ability The ability to work within dynamic project teams and using structured problem solving techniques and providing detail reports on findings The ability to liaise with other engineering disciplines on product specifications / performance matters
