This role will work alongside technical leaders to refine the system architecture, prototype & design electronics in the Apollo quantum computer control system. This role will be instrumental in bridging the system’s ultimate architectural vision with practical implementation based on insight learned from iterative design of prototypes. The individual in this role will be primarily focused on the core digital control system, which facilitates the precise coordination of a massive amount of electronics required to operate our quantum computers. Key Responsibilities:
Work in an R&D and rapid prototyping environmentDevelop a complex electronic control system capable of controlling digital, analog, and RF signalsDefine and develop fast turn prototypes to demonstrate critical system requirementsRefine system architecture based on iterative prototypes results to define ultimate production designCollaborate with scientists and engineers to define new concepts and technologies used to control quantum computersWork closely with FPGA developers to implement these concepts then validate them on internal developmental testbedsEvaluate new software and hardware technologies to improve the control of Quantum ComputersPerform circuit design and analysis, embedded software development, and/or FPGA design and verificationLead design teams to complete projectsYOU MUST HAVE:
Bachelor’s degree minimumMinimum 8+ years of experience in digital board design, including schematic capture and layout (Altium PCB software preferred)Minimum 5+ years of experience working in an R&D and rapid prototyping environmentMinimum 5+ years of hands-on lab experienceMinimum 2+ years of High-speed serial PCB designing & simulationMinimum 2+ Board design experience using FPGAs, processors, high-speed serial, and DDR memoryMinimum 2+ System architecture for complex digital systemsDue to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person defined as a U.S. citizen, permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee statusDue to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.WE VALUE:
