The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate in Physics, Optics, or Photonics to transition into a technical sales role with a global leader in the scientific manufacturing industry. This Technical Sales Engineer position would suit a recent graduate looking for a launch pad to kick start their career and happy with regular travel both in the UK and internationally!

As a Technical Sales Engineer / Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong relationships with key accounts, and driving sales growth across the UK and Europe. You’ll lead sales campaigns, manage high-potential customers, and collaborate with internal teams to deliver bespoke solutions.

What’s Required of the Technical Sales Engineer?

  1. Educated to a Degree level, preference for Master’s or PhD in Physics, Engineering, Optics, or Laser Technology
  2. Experience in business development, technical sales, or key account management would be advantageous but not essential
  3. Strong communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills
  4. A proactive and strategic mindset with the ability to identify new markets
  5. Willingness to travel extensively across the UK and Europe
