Sales Executive – Materials Science

A well-respected international supplier of specialist scientific materials and instrumentation have an opportunity to join their close-knit commercial team as a sales executive to sell their range of innovative products into materials science research laboratories.

This is an excellent opportunity to provide valuable advanced materials and equipment into academic research laboratories across the UK and Europe, meeting sales targets, proactively reaching out to new customers via online sales meetings/calls, providing quotations and liaising with suppliers to provide a tailored product offering to customers following a detailed, consultative, technical discussion.

This is an office-based scientific sales role candidates must be confident and open to having technical discussions with a wide range of researchers, PI’s and becoming the main point of contact for their customers.

Previous sales experience is preferred but is not essential – the company are keen to invest in and develop their new starters with a full comprehensive sales training.

Candidate Requirements

  • Educated to BSc level or higher in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics or related scientific discipline

  • Knowledge of semiconductors, photonics, wafers, thin film, optoelectronic applications

  • Previous commercial/customer focused experience (preferred)

  • Strong communication skills with great interpersonal and negotiation skills

  • Full UK Driving Licence
