Working arrangements

Please note this role does offer hybrid working, our model sets out a minimum 60% onsite / 40% home working split.

In this role, you will:

The Financial Accountant will be an integral member of our small but dedicated finance team. You will drive compliant reporting, support policy and framework development, and lead on technical and systems projects. Reporting directly to the Group Financial Controller, this position is fundamental to the smooth operation of the business. We anticipate continued future growth and with it comes opportunities for personal development and progression within the company.  This role could suit a candidate looking to make their first move from practice to industry but practice experience is not mandatory, just good technical accounting skills coupled with motivation to be continually challenged and a drive to learn.

Requirements

Group Reporting

  • Group consolidation of management accounts and financial statements.
  • Balance sheet reconciliations and schedules
  • Intercompany transaction management and compliance with internal policies.
  • Fixed asset and lease schedule management
  • Payroll journals and reconciliations for all entities
  • Ownership of WIP accounting and revenue recognition, collaborating with Project Managers to ensure accurate revenues and COS reporting

Subledger Oversight

  • Subledger and payables/receivables oversight, supported by the Assistant Management Accountant
  • Collaboration with Procurement function for supplier, credit and approval flow management
  • Build-out of manufacturing accounting framework and processes

Technical & Statutory

  • Statutory accounts preparation under IFRS and supporting Group Financial Controller in other disclosures and reporting
  • Monthly VAT returns, ONS reporting and annual Corporation Tax preparation
  • Audit management and R&D tax credit process/reporting/tracking
  • Ensure IFRS and local GAAP compliance, particularly IAS 20, IFRS 15, and IFRS 16
  • Support the creation and implementation of accounting policies, and draft interpretations of accounting standards
  • Support other tax, compliance and project areas, such as payroll, grants and government schemes
  • Develop robust internal controls to safeguard the organisation’s assets and ensure the integrity of financial data
  • Develop systems expertise and lead finance projects focusing on setup, integrations, compliance, and process streamlining

Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA Qualified, CIMA would be considered if experienced in preparation of consolidated statutory accounts to IFRS
  • Proven experience in key areas of accounting and management as outlined above
  • IT literate, highly proficient in the use of Microsoft 365
  • Experience with accounting software (Microsoft Business Central preferred)
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Solution orientated problem-solving skills, an ability to be curious, investigate issues with recommendations
  • Strong time-management skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
