Exhibition Sales Manager – Large Trade Events

Up to £55,000 +

London x2 days hybrid office


My client is a small, fast paced, high growth start-up building large scale conferences, exhibitions and trade shows focused on emerging and disruptive technologies (part of a multimillion-dollar PLS group, the world’s largest independently owned large-scale conference & exhibition company) delivering market leading business events, attracting the most senior level delegates from each sector and securing sponsorship and exhibition space from world leading corporations.


Launched 5.5 years ago the client delivers global events in the AI in finance, machine learning, quantum computing, sports data and FinTech sectors, bringing together business leaders and the top minds from the FTSE500 companies, asset management and investment banks, insurance, tech and retail and helping them to navigate the opportunities and challenges presented by new disruptive technologies.


As a Sponsorship Sales Manager you will be responsible for:

• Meeting and aiming to exceed the targets for your events on sponsorship revenue

• Researching and identifying leads and contacting individuals through news articles, referrals, research, social media and calls

• Maximising revenue from new and past sponsors and exhibitors

• Building and maintaining strong relationships with senior level decision makers and creating sponsorship packages based on your prospects business needs

• Practicing effective time management; being able to identify, communicate, plan and prioritise your objectives

• Being flexible in your approach and a key part of a growing team willing to assist with tasks outside of sales where needed

• On occasions work outside of contracted hours, including international travel


Skills / Characteristics

• Have a minimum of 3 year’s sales experience ideally in conferences, events, exhibitions (in either sponsorship or delegate sales), media or recruitment

• Be looking for a step up in your career and be willing to take ownership of your events

• Have the confidence to work with C level decision makers from leading enterprise companies globally

• Be unfazed when working under pressure and be able to organize and prioritise completing tasks to deadlines

• Good problem-solving skills and able to anticipate obstacles and find effective solutions

• Can be relied upon to follow through on commitments made and client servicing

• Takes pride and personal responsibility in maintaining the reputation of the product and the team
