Infleqtion UK is a quantum technology company working in quantum sensing, timing, quantum enabled position and navigation, and quantum computing hardware and software.  

With a team of 50 people in the UK established in the last eight years, we are part of the global company Infleqtion with corporate Headquarter in Boulder, Colorado, USA and offices in Melbourne, Australia and Kidlington, United Kingdom.

LOCATION 

Infleqtion has 4 office locations, operating out of Boulder (Colorado), Madison (Wisconsin), Chicago (Illinois) and Oxford-Kidlington, UK. 

 

POSITION SUMMARY 

 Infleqtion UK is seeking a Business Development Executive to join our team. This position will be based in Oxford and will include some UK-wide travel and occasionally some international travel too. An off-site/remote role could be considered for an exceptional candidate, but it will require regular visits to the Oxford HQ. The working schedule is Monday to Friday, 40-hours week is the minimum required. UK wide travel and occasional international travel also required.  This position comes with an associate option pool scheme proportional to the salary level received. 

Requirements

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES 
The Business Development Executive will work alongside the Director of Business Development for UK and Europe at Infleqtion UK and will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities and developing relationships with existing and potential clients. The position will also be responsible for executing and managing the acquisition of new business, including assisting in and sourcing of Government and commercial funding and contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience in sales, marketing, bid creation, and or customer service, with a focus on the quantum or deep-tech industry. Infleqtion UK will provide internal training opportunity on quantum where the candidate has not previous exposure to the subject.  
 
What you’ll bring to the team  

  • Science or Engineering Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. A PhD in a scientific subject or engineering is not required for this job, but where you had one, this would not be a disadvantage. Or vice versa. 
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, marketing, or customer service required. Where a candidate has none, a successful interview of somebody that is a clear self-starter could be considered a fulfilment of the requirement.  
  • 2+ years of experience in quantum or deep-tech industry would be very advantageous 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision 
    Must be able to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively. 
  • Must be able to work in a team environment. 

Responsibilities: 
 

  • Identify new business opportunities by researching them, validate them within the wider team and help the Infleqtion UK team in some aspect of writing of those proposals.  
  • Develop relationships with potential clients by contacting them and providing information on existing products and services. 
  • Negotiate contracts with potential clients to create long-term relationships. 

 
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

Work will normally be performed in an office and laboratory environment and around technical equipment including computers and lasers. Able to sit, stand, bend, lift and carry up to 40 pounds without assistance. Able to efficiently use automated office equipment such as laptops, copiers, and printers; able to effectively engage in communications (via phone, computer, or in-person). Any required Personal Protective Equipment will be provided and must be properly used in accordance with company requirements. TRAVEL Up to 10% travel may be required.
