Lead Hardware Engineer – High Spead Digital Networks – Torbay – IM3419a

Based in a fantastic modern facility in Torbay, a developer of advanced photonics is now looking for an experienced Lead Hardware Engineer to oversee outsourced hardware design and integration activities, including the development of custom ASICs and high-performance network interface cards.

You will lead the definition, specification closure, design reviews, and verification of complex hardware systems, ensuring seamless integration into advanced photonics-based equipment platforms.

This role demands strong technical direction, supplier management, and program/risk oversight in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

Now is an exciting time to join this rapidly growing technology company, at the forefront of networking technologies, who provides the opportunity to work in a state of the art facility near the South Devon coast.

Experience:

We are looking for at least 10 years of experience in hardware integration, preferably within RF, photonics, or optical systems.

You should have a strong understanding of RF fundamentals, signal processing, and control loop design, coupled with a deep knowledge of high-speed ADC and DAC specifications for hardware control.

Through previous projects you should have proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation.

Qualifications:

This role would suit a Bachelors or Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering, Physics, or a related field.

Additional Information:

Candidates MUST be eligible to work and live in the UK. Copies of Visa and Passport will be requested.
