Overview:
First Military Recruitment are currently seeking a Technical Support Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.
We are seeking a proactive, technically skilled In-House IT Support Specialist to provide comprehensive support for both internal and external IT needs. This role involves maintaining our clients internal systems, supporting client device setup, preparing and managing technical exhibitions, and collaborating with the sales team to deliver pre-sales support. The ideal candidate should have a strong IT background with hands-on experience and be comfortable with hardware and software troubleshooting.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide day-to-day maintenance and troubleshooting for internal PCs and laptops.
Advise management on system updates and improvements to ensure optimal functionality.
Deploy and update key applications or collaborate with vendors to implement required software (e.g., ACT, AXIS).
Maintain and update company website as needed.
Assist clients with the setup and configuration of their devices, providing guidance on downloading device drivers, SDKs, and viewing software.
Coordinate with original equipment suppliers for technical support to resolve client issues efficiently.
Plan and organize demonstration spaces at exhibitions, including layout and demonstration item placement.
Ensure optimal placement of items for safe and effective display, accounting for safety, power, and viewing requirements.
Package stand contents securely for transport and prepare for efficient deployment at the venue.
Verify that all electrical equipment is PAT-tested, with results recorded as required.
Prepare installation items and all necessary ancillary equipment.
Review site health and safety (H&S) and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, ensuring compliance with risk assessments, method statements, and PPE protocols.
Document and report any challenges encountered or additional equipment needs post-install to improve future installations.
Conduct general maintenance and repairs on site, focusing on equipment within the scope of training and experience.
Perform PAT testing on internal equipment when necessary.
Collaborate with the sales team to design and deliver effective technology demonstrations for client visits or internal purposes.
Review client requirements, assess available solutions in our product portfolio, and engage technical staff for input to deliver varied solution options.
Skills and Qualifications
Practical hands-on experience in IT support, including familiarity with hardware and software troubleshooting.
Strong IT background with the ability to handle software/hardware setup, updates, and support for various systems.
Desirable Qualifications:
Interest in cameras, photography, or related technologies.
Experience or knowledge in photonics or laser technology.
