The role:

Diales UK are seeking an experienced Quantum Expert Witness to join our growing team in London.

This is a Technical Director level role in which you will be trusted to lead the business's major disputes and advisory services. Winning future work for the business will also be a major part of your role.

The successful candidate will need to have had exposure to expert work, ideally as the lead expert on at least one previous assignment.

Key duties will include:

  1. Lead major domestic and global disputes as lead expert.
  2. Manage teams of Quantum analysts by setting out key dispute areas and analysis parameters, delegating work accordingly.
  3. Collate analysis and reports from all sources and write expert reports.
  4. Lead assignments related to risk advisory, commercial management, and dispute resolution services.
  5. Testify as a Quantum Expert when required.
  6. Conduct regular meetings with clients and legal professionals.
  7. Play a key role in developing new business.
  8. Collaborate with internal and external departments, such as the delay team.

Skills and experience required:

  1. Previously acted as the lead expert on major construction disputes, with experience in testifying and being cross-examined.
  2. Demonstrable experience managing teams within the lead expert role.
  3. Expertise in Quantum issues within construction disputes.
  4. Excellent report writing skills at an expert level.
  5. Understanding of the duties of an expert under CPR35 conditions.
  6. Significant knowledge of adjudication, arbitration, and litigation proceedings.
  7. Ability to generate new business and demonstrate previous success in winning work.
  8. Excellent client-facing skills.

Qualifications/Educational requirements:

  1. Full membership of the RICS.
  2. Completed or willing to complete a relevant law/construction law qualification, such as MSc, LLM, or LLB.

Additional information:

Candidates with significant experience as an assistant lead on expert reports may also be considered.
