Serious Injury Fee Earner

Key Responsibilities

: Manage a caseload of serious injury and clinical negligence matters from inception to conclusion, ensuring timely and efficient progress. Support the Team Leader in the day-to-day running of the department, assisting colleagues within the team where required. Assess liability and quantum, reviewing medical reports and researching and obtaining relevant case law. Maximise personal billings to meet department income targets and forecasts. Provide excellent client care through regular communication and face-to-face meetings with clients. Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of experts, including medical professionals, case managers, architects, forensic accountants, and counsel. Analyse evidence and research legal issues on liability, causation, and quantum. Draft documents such as statements, pleadings, and schedules of loss. Secure early interim payments and appropriate rehabilitation for clients. Maintain a strong commercial awareness and business acumen. Ensure write-offs and supplier issues are kept to a minimum. Use the Proclaim system in line with firm policies, providing guidance to junior staff as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

5-10 years PQE in serious injury and/or clinical negligence. Strong fee-earning skills and technical ability in RTA, ELPL, and Clinical Negligence. Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage client relationships effectively. Proven ability to manage a busy caseload efficiently. Commercial awareness and a results-driven approach.
