Are you passionate about leading ground-breaking projects at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Quantum Computing? As a Scientific Project Manager with our dynamic AI and Algorithms team, you will play a vital role in driving innovation that has the potential to redefine industries. If you're ready to make an impact in a fast-paced environment while collaborating with brilliant minds, we want to hear from you!

The role of the Scientific Project Manager is to organise and enable the AI and Algorithms team to be the best at what they do and to make fast-paced progress towards our Quantum for AI and AI for Quantum mission.

This role will provide hands-on Project Management support to the AI and Algorithms team. As a Scientific Project Manager, you will apply program management methodologies to multiple initiatives, balancing progress and risk to deliver sustainable change to meet objectives. You will work with both internal and external clients on technical projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Work with the internal scientific teams on all required elements of end-to-end project planning and delivery, using your knowledge of project methodologies including tools and techniques such as stand ups, retrospectives, agile boards, project plans etc.
  2. Be the trusted owner of the status of our AI strategy projects. Clearly identify dependencies, risks and issues, and drive progress and visibility.
  3. Build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and influence action and outcomes without direct authority, ensuring alignment among the stakeholders.
  4. Drive process improvements and efficiencies, streamlining processes, simplify execution, and bring tooling efficiencies, where applicable.
  5. Support the drive for engagement across the team by building and maintaining relationships, sharing constructive feedback, challenging established ways of thinking and inspiring them to achieve their full potential.
  6. Evaluate the success of programs against their aims, goals and objectives.
  7. Co-ordinating and facilitating internal and external Scientific Workshops.

You must have:

  1. Scientific background ideally with a relevant PhD in Quantum Information, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry or other related field or similar experience.
  2. Prior experience and expertise in managing clients and partners projects/program management, with the skill to navigate through ambiguity and adjust and adapt plans and strategies as project conditions change.
  3. You are passionate about Quantum and AI and proactive about learning and acquiring knowledge to enhance your domain knowledge.
  4. Experience building collaborative environments, bridging the gap between researchers, engineers and stakeholders, ensuring everyone is working towards a shared vision.
  5. You're a natural problem-solver, readily identifying the root causes of complex challenges to implement elegant solutions.
  6. Strong communication skills, ability to develop meaningful relationships with key stakeholders and leverage these to influence action and outcomes.

We value:

  1. Experience supporting teams in fast-paced and constantly changing environments, acting as a sounding board as individuals go through the change cycle and supporting during challenging times.
  2. Serve as a liaison between technical and communication teams, assisting in external communication efforts to articulate our achievements and vision effectively.
  3. 7+ years' experience in a scaling technology/R&D environment, with exposure to both technology and business teams.
  4. Strong background or understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing concepts, ideally with a focus on their intersection (Quantum AI).
  5. Familiarity with AI algorithms, quantum computing principles, and how these technologies can be applied to real-world problems.
  6. Experience working with scientific and technical teams, enabling efficient communication and understanding of complex concepts.

What is in it for you?

Working alongside a highly talented team, with leading names in the quantum computing industry. We offer a highly competitive package, equity, 28 days of paid holiday (in addition to public holidays), a workplace pension, a positive approach to flexible working and enhanced parental and adoption benefits.

Where to Advertise Quantum Computing Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising quantum computing jobs in the UK requires a fundamentally different approach to most technical hiring. The global talent pool is tiny — measured in thousands, not tens of thousands — and concentrated around a small number of university physics departments, national laboratories and well-funded hardware startups. Many of the strongest candidates hold PhDs in quantum physics, quantum information or adjacent disciplines and are embedded in academic or research communities that rarely intersect with mainstream job boards. General platforms are largely ineffective for quantum hiring. Specialist boards, academic channels and direct community outreach are not optional extras — they are the primary sourcing strategy. This guide, published by QuantumComputingJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise quantum computing roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about hiring across different role types.

New Quantum Computing Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and International Companies Advancing Quantum Careers

Quantum computing is no longer confined to research labs. As companies convert quantum theory into testable products, algorithms, and computing platforms, demand for professionals with quantum knowledge — whether physics, algorithms, software development, or hardware engineering — is rising. In 2026, quantum computing organisations are securing significant funding, industry partnerships, and contracts across sectors such as energy, finance, telecommunications, defence, and healthcare. For candidates exploring opportunities on www.QuantumComputingJobs.co.uk , understanding which employers are hiring now and scaling quantum teams is crucial. This article profiles the new and high‑growth quantum computing employers to watch in 2026, with a specific focus on UK‑based innovators, international firms with UK operations, and leading global quantum organisations.

How Many Quantum Computing Tools Do You Need to Know to Get a Quantum Computing Job?

Quantum computing is one of the most exciting frontiers in science and technology — and the job market reflects that excitement. But for aspiring practitioners, the sheer number of tools, frameworks, programming languages and hardware platforms can feel overwhelming. One job advert mentions Qiskit, another talks about Cirq or Pennylane. You see references to quantum annealers and superconducting qubits, to measurement hardware and simulators, to noise mitigation libraries and cloud platforms. It’s easy to conclude that unless you master every quantum tool, you’ll never get a job. Here’s the honest truth most quantum computing hiring managers won’t explicitly tell you: 👉 They don’t hire you because you know every tool — they hire you because you can apply the right tools to solve real problems and explain why your solutions work. Tools matter, but context, understanding, judgement and results matter more. So how many quantum computing tools do you actually need to know to succeed in a job search? The real answer is significantly fewer than most people assume — and far more focused by role. This article breaks down what tools really matter in quantum jobs, which ones are core, which are role-specific, and how you can build a coherent toolkit that employers actually value.
