Within A&M, a specialist team is being assembled in EMEA to provide Quantum, Delay and Technical Expert Witness advisory services to the Construction industry. Our newly created Construction Disputes team will support clients and work with law firms to provide expert advisory and expert support in construction claims and dispute matters. Building on our reputation for high quality work in a non-Audit environment and an approach characterised by a high level of objectivity, diligence, and intensive analysis, our Construction Disputes team benefits from the backing of our global Disputes & Investigations team and close collaboration with our highly successful Turnaround and Restructuring teams. We are uniquely placed to provide end to end support the Construction industry on every aspect of a Dispute.

The Role And Responsibilities
  • We are looking for a Quantum specialist at Director level in London to work closely with the Quantum Lead on a arbitration and adjudication work nationally and across EMEA. You will:
  • Provide specialist expert quantum opinion and contractual advice in all aspects of construction delay and disruption matters
  • Prepare analysis and expert reports for complex, high value arbitration and litigation proceedings
  • Prepare expert testimony on Quantum dispute matters as required and work towards providing expert testimony in a live legal context
  • Deliver Expert Quantum analysis work
  • Work with the delay expert team on disputes and business development and management

The successful appointee will play a key part in the further development of the practice, with emphasis on thought leadership as well as practice and business development.

The Requirements

You must be a chartered quantity surveyor with experience of large scale, complex construction disputes and be experienced in litigation and arbitration procedures. Ideally, you will be working in Quantum in a similar Construction Disputes business and have a blend of the following experience:

  • assessing and quantifying contractual claims and working in the construction industry
  • performing detailed Quantum forensic analysis and comfortable handling large data sets
  • drafting technical and expert reports, and proposals and white papers
  • producing clear concise opinions on matters in dispute leading to the production of CPR 35 compliant reports
  • understanding all methods of alternative dispute resolution

Additionally, You Must Be

  • highly analytical and known for your attention to detail
  • a skilled communicator (written and verbal) with exceptional report writing skills; fluency in English is essential
  • IT proficient - Excel and PowerPoint are essential
  • Degree educated in Engineering, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying plus qualified or equivalent chartered surveyor
