Tasks

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:

Required to perform quality assurance activities for the Wafer fabrication development and manufacturing teams. The site develops and manufactures Indium phosphide wafers, processing them through to individual chips.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Quality Technician for product manufacturing will be responsible for:

  • Assuring the product quality control and compliance meets specification requirements
  • Supporting the Quality Engineer in all quality control activities
  • Carrying out Internal Process Audits & ESD audits, Corrective and Preventive actions

The role will involve:

  • Routine process and ESD audit to monitor Manufacturing Line Performance
  • Support and Co-ordination on Corrective Action Management
  • Spot Check Audits and Shop Floor Walks
  • Drive and support Quality Improvement Initiatives
  • Supporting customer visits/audits
  • Support site calibration activities
  • Goods In and Goods Out Inspection of components and finished goods
  • Supporting the internal audit program
  • Change Control – approval/effectiveness monitoring
  • Develop / update operation instructions for QA

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BTEC ONC/OND in Electronic or Mechanical Engineering or similar, or
  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in QA in a manufacturing environment

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

  • Ability to problem solve using various techniques.
  • Background in manufacturing and/or product assembly
  • ISO9001 Quality System
  • MS Office – Inc. Word, Excel, Email and PowerPoint
  • Proven communication skills

Requirements

EXPERIENCE:

  • Quality Audit background.
  • Able to recognize and define problems, analyse data and facts, make inference and or draw conclusions.
  • Calibration Experience (Preferred)
  • Previous experience of working within a cleanroom environment (Preferred)
  • Previous working experience with SAP, Agile or PROMIS (or similar systems)

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to demonstrate excellent team skills and have proven practical experience in completing given tasks.
  • Ability to integrate quickly into an existing team, and able to demonstrate having strong inter-personal communication skills
  • Target orientated
  • May be required to work shifts
  • Due to rural location of the site and not being served by public transport – own transportation is essential
