PIC Design & Testing Engineer


Role Overview

I am looking for aPIC Design & Testing Engineerto join an exciting team in Bristol to design and test PIC chips and MEMS/PIC inertial sensors. Your role will involve hands-on testing, data analysis, and collaborating with various teams to refine designs and test processes. Experience in chip-scale LIDAR, optical switches, or MEMS-enabled silicon photonics is a plus, but not required.


Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in PIC design, tape-out, and experimental testing (silicon/silicon nitride)
  • Proficient with design and simulation tools (Lumerical, IPKISS, COMSOL)
  • Strong background in testing optical, thermal, mechanical, and electrical systems
  • Master's/PhD in Physics, Engineering, or related field
  • Experience in small teams, with excellent analytical and documentation skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
