Photonic Test Engineer

We are looking for aPhotonic PIC Design Engineerto join the Design Team, focusing on III-V optical chip components. This role involves optoelectronic device design, mask design, waveguide modelling, early characterisation, and test methodology development. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the transfer of research to NPI phase and production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and active photonic III-V components
  • Perform device mask design and waveguide/optical modelling
  • Collaborate with design and fabrication teams to define PDKs and automate design rules
  • Support external collaborative projects
  • Conduct DC and RF verification, and prepare technical reports

Requirements

  • Experience in III-V semiconductor physics
  • Proficient in mask design tools (Python/Nazca/Layout or equivalent)
  • Experience with PDK components and design rule checks
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and independent work skills
  • Ability to manage tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
