Overview

You'll be working in collaboration with the current People team to provide a best in class People service to employees and candidates.

Reporting into the Strategic People Business Partner, you will have responsibility for a broad range of operational People matters within your defined business areas, as well as working on various People projects and providing cover for colleagues across the People function. 

You will ensure the delivery of a seamless and efficient service to all areas of the business, developing tools and support materials to empower managers.

You will develop and lead HR initiatives and influence wider company projects to ensure people are front and centre.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • You will undertake HR work with the team to ensure a smooth and efficient service across all the People function areas, including but not limited, in relation to: employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, payroll and benefits, learning and development, reward, people policy. 
  • You will be responsible for supporting and advising the business on all elements of HR including employee relations issues, dispute resolution, disciplinary, grievances, absence management, and performance management, across the employee lifecycle.
  • You will coach line managers to deal with mediation and difficult conversations. This will include running small workshops
  • Work on a range of People projects to develop implement the people strategy across the organisation. 
  • You will lead and manage the consultation process for organisational change activities, enacting change and completing all supporting paperwork and system changes.
  • You will attend and support at formal meetings and advise on recommendations on the outcome of investigations.
  • You will keep up to date and share best practice on employment law activity.
  • Analyse data to identify trends and share insights with relevant managers/stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement these in consultation with appropriate stakeholders. 
  • Support the company EDI and wellbeing initiatives, may also include STEM activities.
  • Support the Head of Talent if required.

Requirements

  • You will have expertise in leading and managing consultation and organisational change/development/restructuring, end to end. This will include defining roles and organisational structures to help managers build high performing teams.
  • You will also have experience of leadership development, ideally with a coaching qualification and experience.
  • Previous, progressive HR experience, working in a partnering style, with a focus on organisational development including managing consultations.
  • The ability to handle a varied complex workload with multiple and conflicting priorities. Able to maintain a BAU workload, continuous improvement projects as well as possible ad hoc situations that may arise at short notice.
  • Experience of managing and advising on employee relations activities including but not limited to performance management, grievances, disciplinary, absence management, organisational changes and mediation.
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring HR team members, ability to share experience and knowledge and support the careers of others.
  • Up to date knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice and experienced in its application to employee relations case work (absence, disciplinary, grievance, flexible working, etc)
  • A commercial, risk aware and people focused mindset
  • CIPD level 5 or equivalent

Desirable:

  • A coaching qualification with practical experience.
  • Experience of working with international subsidiaries, setting up offices abroad, liaising with other disciplines such as finance, tax and visa’s
