What you will do:
You will work closely with the business and provide legal support to our the legal and credit control teams.
Some of the key activities involved include:
- Deal with a variety of commercial disputes and commercial litigation matters including debt collection matters.
- Manage communications between external lawyers and the business
- Support the day to day running of cases and manage own case load
- Oversee management of legal cases and ensure timely and effective resolution.
- Make and respond to offers, negotiating settlement of both liability and quantum as and when necessary, subject to supervision
What you will bring to the role:
You will be a confident communicator, able to engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and manage your own case load from end to end.
You will also be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to work with speed and accuracy and be confident working both independently and as part of a wider team.
- Confidence drafting court documents and instructing counsel and experts where appropriate
- Proven experience assessing liability and quantum and preparing reports/advice
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong negotiation skills
