Job Description
As part of Renishaw’s Spectroscopy Products Division continued growth, we have openings for scientists to develop new cutting-edge Raman spectroscopy products. We are looking for recent graduates that have demonstrable skills in optical systems use, design and development. These roles are ideal for applicants wanting to move from the academic world to a commercial one, whilst still working in the scientific arena.
Successful applicants will support Renishaw’s existing Raman systems and work with the application and design teams to develop new cutting-edge products, deliver custom solutions, and conduct continued product engineering.
Based at our Innovation centre set in beautiful Gloucestershire, you will have a fantastic working environment whether you want the hustle and bustle of nearby Bristol, or the calm of the Cotswolds. Responsibilities
Working with the design team to develop and test new cutting-edge Raman instrumentation Defining and conducting system and sample testing Planning and conducting experiments as part of the instrument design process Providing technical content for marketing literature, including videos, webinars, and written literature
Key requirements
A good working knowledge of optical physics and/or Raman spectroscopy Degree in physics, or relevant scientific / numerate discipline
Desirable requirements
MSc or PhD in Optics / Photonics /Physics / Raman spectroscopy Experience using Raman spectroscopy or other spectroscopy equipment and software
Person specification
The ideal applicant will be self-motivated, organised, and have an attention to detail in their work. They must be able to multi-task, prioritise, and deliver to deadlines. Good problem-solving skills, numeracy and computer literacy are essential. They require good communication skills and must be able to engage in technical/scientific conversation with team members and customers.
