Potentialshares in a small team with fantastic career growth potential.We’ve teamed up with an award-winning quantum hardware start-up,who enable secure encryption through harnessing the power ofphotonics and quantum mechanics. As one of the UK’s many universityspinout success stories, they’re currently a team of 25, made up ofspecialists in quantum physics, firmware, hardware and software.Due to continued growth, they’re looking to hire an FPGA Engineerto bolster their product engineering capability. Please note thatthey are based in Oxford, with a hybrid working policy. You shouldexpect to be in the office 2-3 days a week, though there isflexibility where necessary. What experience will I need? A degreeor relevant education in Electronics, Engineering, Computer Scienceor similar. Proven FPGA expertise, as well as SoC architecture.Extensive experience in the design & debugging ofdigital/analog hardware interfaces. Understanding of signalprocessing, plus algorithm design & optimisation. Skilled inVHDL, Verilog or a similar hardware description language. Expert indesign & verification, using tools like Xilinx, System Verilogand UVM. Familiarity with embedded software development, usingC/C++. Proficiency in simulation tooling, using things likeModelSim or QuestaSim. Any awareness of quantum computing,photonics or cryptography would be useful. What will my day-to-daylook like? This position is involved from PoC design to production.You’ll design & implement FPGA systems for several applicationsrelated to cyber security & computing, with targeted fieldsincluding communication, HPC, simulations and automotive systems.Internal stakeholder engagement is paramount as you’ll engage withthe software & hardware teams to ensure high-level FPGAarchitecture. You’ll be test-driven, often building simulations toensure functional compliance, as well as preparing meaningfuldocumentation to provide scalability as the team continues to grow.Lots of variety in a start-up environment, with fantastic scope forinternal progression depending on your ambitions What do I get inreturn?
