About the role:

The successful candidate would work with the Head of Claims and individual Business Unit claims and underwriting personnel, to provide a best in class claims service to our underwriting partners, policyholders and brokers.

Responsibilities:

  • To receive, manage and process Trade Credit claims in a timely and efficient manner from first notice to closure;
  • To accurately assess liability and quantum of claims and to technically analyse policy coverage and wordings;
  • To follow at all times applicable reserving philosophy and claims standards, including adherence to contractual delegated authorities & service level agreements;
  • To deliver a professional service representative of the Nexus brand and culture to internal and external clients;
  • To initiate, conduct and review audits of Third Party Administrators (TPAs) in the UK and internationally;
  • To provide guidance, support and referral for junior and lesser experienced claims staff
  • To establish, analyse and report on claims KPI’s to the Chief Legal and Risk Officer and Managing Directors of Business Units as required providing commentary and input into the overall Claims strategy;
  • To support in the IT system / bordereau process to ensure and maintain data quality and accuracy;
  • To follow up on recovery opportunities and to process dividend payments;
  • To work with and manage vendors in an effective way.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Able to manage own workload efficiently and effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, utilising all genres
  • Supportive and able to coach and mentor lesser experienced team members
  • Able to communicate, both verbally and written, in other languages would be welcomes but is not required
  • Previous Trade Credit Claims experience would be beneficial
  • Minimum 2+ years’ experience, ideally within Insurance
  • End to end knowledge of the Insurance process and claims management
  • Law degree/qualification preferred but not essential
