Managing Director / CEO - Vacuum / Photonics / Camera Technology My Client is looking for a Managing Director / CEO ideally with Vacuum / Imaging / Photonics / Camera Technology experience to join and lead the team.
The incumbent will be responsible for managing the company to maximise the financial, commercial and operational performance of the organisation and set the company up for continuous growth.
The Managing Director / CEO will have a local management team reporting into them: Finance, Operations, Sales and Marketing, and Engineering.
A technical degree is required, as well as experience in Operations and Business Development. Applicants must possess a dynamic and application-driven approach to the sales process and the drive to achieve ambitious growth goals. The Managing Director must inspire the organisation to be customer-focused to attain top line revenue growth and improve profitability. 20-30% travel is expected.
About the Role:
KEY FEATURES OF RESPONSIBILITY
Provide inspired leadership companywide – act as coach to senior management team; build and model company culture
Make high level decisions about policy & strategy
Develop & implement operational policies and a strategic plan
Provide direction – communicate & translate strategy into detailed one-year operational plans. Clarify for everyone workforce their responsibilities and what is expected of them
Design organisation structure & staffing for growth and profitability
Develop company’s culture and overall company vision of “Quality First” – create a seamless, consistent level of excellence at every stage of contact and work within the company
Create an environment that promotes great performance and positive morale; also develop companywide communications for all staff
Manage company performance – review progress against plans and initiate any necessary corrective action
Conduct reviews of individual performance. Confront poor performance.
Oversee company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, auditing
Report to board of directors and keep them informed
Oversee major supplier negotiations.
Qualifications:
Educated to Degree Level in a technical subject (Imaging, Engineering or Material Science)
MBA
Experience:
10+ years of experience in manufacturing management or similar industry
Sales of technical equipment
Export control
A proven record as a team player who has the ability and confidence to work on own initiative and independently when needed
Ability to train, develop, motivate and manage teams
Experiences with significant operations improvements and revenue growth
