We are seeking a highly qualifiedLead Hardware Deployment Engineerfor ourGolden Valley, MNlocation to support deployment of our Helios systems for our Hardware-as-a-Service business. This advanced opportunity begins at an early stage of a Helios project, allowing the ideal candidate an opportunity to support integration, validation, and disassembly at the Quantinuum site followed by relocation, reassembly, and deployment to the customer site. This experience would give them significant exposure to and expertise with our hardware and software and put them in a natural position to lead hardware deployment and service activities. Subject matter expertise in trapped ion quantum computing, lasers, optics, classical control hardware and software, vacuum, cryogenics, environmental enclosures, packaging, and hardware deployment will all be impactful to this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Successful disassembly, relocation, reassembly, and deployment of Helios systems to customer sites
  • On-site service and maintenance of Helios with the support of subject matter experts and a global team
  • Support integration and validation efforts at the Quantinuum site prior to deployment
  • Domestic and International travel to customer sites for extended periods for hardware deployment (months) and service (weeks) for each Helios system deployed
  • Have utmost focus on business success, technical progress, and professionalism
  • Travel up to 85% during deployment periods and up to 25% otherwise

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Ph.D. Completed
  • Minimum 8+ years of post-graduate experience (M.S. or Ph.D. inclusive) as a technical contributor in an R&D or hardware production environment
  • Reliable access to transportation within one hour proximity of a major airport
  • Eligibility to complete international travel
  • Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status

WE VALUE:

  • Ph.D. (Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field preferred)
  • Proven expertise in atomic physics systems, superconducting qubits, or other quantum computing platforms, from lab and apparatus design/build all the way to execution of applications or research activities
  • Deep experience with lasers, laser cooling, atom trapping, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum systems, analog and digital electronics, laboratory hardware control, Python, physical modeling, and data analysis
  • Strong communication skills evidenced by a history of multidisciplinary collaboration with external parties and/or customers on large-scale projects
  • Extensive experience generating and implementing documentation, test planning and execution, and product lifecycle management
  • Experience deploying and servicing hardware, such as for large-scale scientific collaborations, manufacturing, and/or analysis equipment

Estimated Salary Wage: $143,000 - $175,000 Annually
