We are seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable and motivatedperson with strong experience in Casualty lines, to helpconsolidate our position as a leading provider of commercial claimssolutions, and to support our clients by delivering a first classclaims handling service. Our claims ethos is to strive to handleand resolve claims efficiently and fairly in accordance with ourClaims Charter/Code of Conduct and Claims Process Guidelines. Therole will involve working closely with the Head of Third PartyClaims to deliver corporate goals whilst promoting LSM’s corevalues. The role will require strong technical knowledge, aflexible approach and sound claims handling judgement across all UKCasualty, High Excess and Environmental lines to ensure outstandingcustomer service at all times. The position will involve managingthe Casualty Claims team, reporting into the Head of Third PartyClaims. About the Department & Team: LSM’s Claims departmenthandle claims through all stages from initial notification toconclusion including; analysis of new notifications, coverage,liability and quantum, establishing and monitoring appropriatereserves and making claims payments as required. The CasualtyClaims team handles claims across multiple classes of businessincluding UK Casualty, High Excess and Environmental ImpairmentLiability. Key Responsibilities: 1. Working closely with the HeadThird Party Claims in proactively managing a cross section ofCasualty claims and ensuring that the necessary level of expertiserequired is deployed for investigation of coverage, liability,quantum and strategy aspects of a file. 2. Always followingapplicable claims reserving philosophy and claims standards whilstobserving appropriate referral triggers. 3. Oversee and ensureclaims are triaged appropriately, and handled in accordance withthe LSM Claims Charter/Code of Conduct and Claims Guidelines. 4.Liaising closely with relevant internal and external stakeholdersthroughout the life cycle of the claim. This will includecollaboration with underwriters and actuaries on portfoliomanagement, risk mitigation, policy wordings and claim trends. Itwill also involve regular interaction with policyholders, brokersand co-insurers, as well as market experts, adjusters and legalprofessionals where required. 5. Contributing to the business’thought leadership, developing new ideas, and research to supportLSM’s underwriting, and claims strategies and our clients. 6.Communicate and collaborate across LSM and GRS product sub boardsto provide insight on trends and to ensure the Claims feedback loopis working effectively. 7. Enhancing the exposure and profile ofthe Claims team through our Claims+ offering, attendance at marketmeetings, and working with our Claims Business Development team toexplore business development opportunities at industry events,conferences and other external engagements. 8. Ensuring compliancewith best practice, service and communication through systemreporting and internal file audits. 9. Adherence to the authorityrequirements of the role as agreed. Additionally, financialauthority will be reviewed no less than annually. 10. To supportthe management of all third party relationships where the thirdparty has delegated claims handling authority. 11. Promotion of theLSM Claims Charter and Code of Conduct delivering excellence inclient service. 12. Adherence to all relevant regulatoryrequirements forms part of your role, and the demonstration ofbehaviours as set out in the Conduct Risk Policy, as they relate toyour role, is core to LSMs commitment to our Liberty Values,placing customers at the centre of our business and behaving withintegrity. LSM expects you to understand your responsibilitiesrelating to all regulatory and internal requirements, and toproactively demonstrate compliance with these requirements andbehaviours at all times. These requirements include the SeniorManagers and Certification Regime Conduct Rules, Solvency II, fairtreatment of customers, Financial Crime, Data Protection, Conflictsof Interest, and Whistleblowing. Skills and Experience: 1.Extensive experience in the London Market in relevant classes. 2.Requires advanced knowledge of claims handling concepts, practices,procedures and techniques, including, but not limited to coverageissues, product lines, marketing, IT and product competition withinthe marketplace. 3. Knowledge of law and insurance regulations invarious jurisdictions. 4. Ability to make decisions and exhibitsound and reasoned judgment and/or escalate as necessary. 5.Ability to effectively interact with brokers and internaldepartments is essential. 6. Strong verbal, written communicationand organization skills. 7. Strong negotiation, analytical anddecision-making skills also required. 8. Willingness to mix tasksand work in a changing environment to achieve the efficientoperation of the claims team. 9. Ability to decide the complexityof claims on prescribed rules. 10. Competent organizational,interpersonal and relationship building skills. 11. Able toidentify, monitor and report on market loss trends. 12. Degree orGCSE A levels or ACII qualified or working towards.
