The company has seen significant expansion in recent years, and to support this momentum, they are seeking an Engineering Manager to lead their engineering teams across multiple UK locations.

The Role

As Engineering Manager, you will oversee all aspects of engineering operations, driving design innovation, process improvements, and project delivery. Working closely with sales, production, and R&D teams, you will ensure the seamless development and manufacturing of advanced electronic components. This role requires a strategic mindset, hands-on leadership, and strong technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Leadership: Manage and prioritize engineering projects, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and innovation.

  • Product Development: Collaborate with sales and R&D teams to create a forward-thinking product roadmap.

  • Process Improvement: Define and refine assembly and testing procedures to optimize production.

  • Cost Management: Oversee job costing, labor estimations, and equipment procurement.

  • Technical Support: Work closely with customers, sales teams, and manufacturing to resolve technical challenges.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Maintain engineering documentation in line with ISO and SC21 standards.

  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at trade shows, deliver technical presentations, and contribute to marketing materials.

    About You

    The ideal candidate is an experienced engineering leader with a strong technical background within either electronic components ie.RF/Microwave, Cable Assemblies or within a electronic or mechanic manufacturing environment catering for the Aerospace/Defence or Automotive markets. You thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and are passionate about leading teams to deliver cutting-edge solutions.

    Essential Skills & Experience:

    ✔ Proven experience in engineering management within a manufacturing environment
    ✔ Strong CAD expertise (ideally SolidWorks)
    ✔ Excellent communication and leadership skills
    ✔ Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate across departments
    ✔ Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    Desirable:

    ✔ Background in RF/Microwave, cryogenic components, or cable assemblies
    ✔ Familiarity with value stream mapping and lean manufacturing principles
