What is the job?
We are looking for a Draughtsperson for 6 months, to assist with the reviewing and creation of manufacturing drawings as well as maintenance of legacy product drawings.  Working in a production team you will be involved in providing drafting support to the Engineering team by maintaining and controlling manufacturing documentation to the highest standards.

 

Working Hours:Monday to Friday 8am – 4:30 pm

What is essential to us…

·       Qualification in level 4 vocational qualifications or HNC, or equivalent experience or qualifications.

·       Experience of using a 3D CAD package.

·       Knowledge of Solidworks.

·       Experience using an MRP system.

·       Strong attention to detail.

We use these products in manufacturing and research, from fibre optics to piezo motors. We are the gold standard with optics laboratories worldwide. There are now 22 facilities across the world in 9 countries. Here in Ely, we are responsible for the Motion Control and Optical Tables product line.

Where you will be working?

Our purpose-built facility is just 12 miles from Cambridge, within the beautiful mediaeval city of Ely. There are train and bus links to Ely from Kings Cross and Liverpool Street London, and our site is within distance of Ely train station and Ely Bus station.

Requirements

What we would like you to do/to see…

·     Generate specifications and drawings to the BS 888 standard in conjunction with engineers for precision machined components and fabricated assemblies.

·     Review and update legacy manufacturing drawings and documentation.

·      Fix legacy CAD data.

·     Assist with the creation of bills of materials and other manufacturing documentation using our MRP system.

·     Design of derivative products from concept through to production.

·     Working collaboratively with other departments to ensure complete knowledge transfer of products into production

·     Adhering to core values and driven positive attitude

·     Receptive to new challenges and expanding current knowledge.

·     Positive contribution to multi-departmental initiatives and process improvements

·     Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
