Our client are at the forefront of photonics technology, providing cutting-edge solutions for aerospace, defence, life sciences, and industrial applications. Numbering over 1000 people around the world with significant R&D responcibility across sites in the UK.

We are seeking 2 Photonics Design Engineers at Senior and Principal level. As part of our optics and fibre-optic R&D team, you'll lead the development of cutting-edge fibre-optic products for the industrial, aerospace & defence, and bio-photonics markets. This role offers diverse activities, from initial product concepts to customer interaction.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop world-leading optical and photonic components.
  • Lead a team, setting objectives and appraisals.
  • Involvement in prototype builds and testing.
  • Support design modifications and engineering changes.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Physics, PhD preferred.
  • Experience in fibre-optics, photonics, and optics.
  • Problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges.
  • Proficiency with design tools like Zemax Optics Studio.
