Job Title:Senior Manager- Sales & MRO

Salary: up to £75,000 dependent on experience + bonus

Location: Southend on Sea


Aeropeople are currently recruiting for a Senior Manager- Sales & MRO on behalf of our client based in Southend on Sea.

Established 20 years ago they are an approved aircraft repair station specialising in aviation wheel and brake services. Their sizable workshop/ office offers the space to carry out full testing, inspection, repair and overhaul of the majority of regional, commercial, military and corporate aircraft wheels, brakes, landing gear, freight locking system components, hydraulics, actuators, valves and accumulators. They also have their own Non- Destructive Testing department on site. With their parent company operating in the USA, their customers span the UK to Europe, USA, Canada, Middle and Far East.

The role of the Senior Manager- Sales & MRO is to manage and develop the Customer Service and Sales & Asset Management functions to provide a best-in-class service to customers, creating long term relationships and opportunities for commercial growth. You will develop and implement a sales and trading strategy to maximise revenues and margins from the trading of owned and consigned assets. Your role will contribute to the strategic growth and development of the business.



Main Responsibilities:

  • Optimisation and management of the business and consigned inventories including investment strategy and availability management
  • Implementation of pricing strategies
  • Revenue and margin accountability
  • Development and implementation of strategic sales and business plans for investment
  • Development of departmental functions, processes and personnel
  • Development and implementation of MRO customer focused strategies
  • Account management for key business partners and customers
  • Work closely with Business Development on the management of key opportunities and customer/ supplier relationships
  • Setting of individual and departmental objectives, KPIs and targets
  • Active contribution to the long-term growth and development of the business
  • Recruitment and hiring of capable and competent personnel
  • Initiate, develop and preserve customer relationships at all levels
  • Establish new sales channels and generate sales leads into the company
  • Negotiation of sales opportunities – individual component sales through to long-term contracted maintenance programmes
  • Develop and implement customer KPIs, reports and communication strategy
  • Execute sales strategy to ensure business objectives are met
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure delivery terms are met.
  • Possess full core competency knowledge for the range of the companies’ services across a variety of aircraft.
  • Attendance at tradeshows, conferences and airshows as required.

  • Annual salary of up to £75,000 dependent upon experience

About You:


  • Degree level preferred in business or technical discipline
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM/ sales management software
  • Previous aviation experience in a customer or sales focused role
  • Team management and development experience
  • Commercially experienced/ entrepreneurial, ability to produce business plans and proposals
  • Ability to determine, define and translate complex customer requirements into effective sales opportunities, solutions and proposals
  • Tenacious, self-starter with strong organisational skills and with a customer and sales focus
  • Confident and able to communicate with and motivate technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • ERP business system experience – proficiency in Quantum would be ideal
