An exciting Associate Quantum Director job in theconstruction sector to join a large multidisciplinary consultancyin their London office. The client in question can offer theopportunity to work on domestic and international projects anddisputes, as well as offering industry leading training &support which will enhance and develop your delay analysis skills.This role would suit Senior Consultants seeking progression withinQuantum disputes or Associate Directors currently working withinquantum disputes and can demonstrate extensive quantum experience.For this demanding construction quantum position, which willprovide you access to some of the most fascinating and difficultconstruction conflicts, strong analytical problem-solving abilitiesand communication skills are a requirement. Responsibilities andDuties Working as Associate Director of Quantum in the Londonoffice, you will be acting in a “number 2” capacity reporting to arecognised delay expert and will have the responsibility to: - Leadthe drafting of detailed expert witness reports for use in formaldispute resolution proceedings - Lead development of a contract andcommercial strategy to successfully recover performance ofdistressed project or major programmes in line with Client outcomes- Review and assess contemporaneous project records to establishquantum associated with claims and/or disputes - Quantum Forensicanalysis of tender, contract, and claims documentation - Effectivestakeholder management with the Client and at all levels of thesupply-chain, chairing meetings with the Client and other advisorsas necessary - Critically analyse project and major programmeperformance, identifying root cause of those elements in distress -Providing strategic advice at all stages of the construction lifecycle - Proactively manage cashflow. Review and assesscontemporaneous project records to establish quantum associatedwith claims and/or disputes - Experience in developing and pursuingclaims up or down the supply-chain - Undertaking research anddevelopment of emerging industry related technologies as well askeeping up with the developments within own technical area ofexpertise - Support and guide Junior staff working with you onspecific tasks - Supporting the interface with the client and otherconsultants, at all project stages - Acting as an ambassadorchampioning the Contract Services delivered by the consultancy inthe industry. Desired Skills and Experience - Around 10 yearsexperience of relevant construction and engineering industryexperience - Experience of having worked on claims matters arisingas a result of being a contractor or subcontractor's Senior QS,Project QS or Senior Consultant in a consultancy. - Familiaritywith claims and formal dispute proceedings. - Experience inadjudication from start to finish would be desirable but notessential. - Good knowledge of common contracts such as NEC and JCT& FIDIC - Knowledge of relevant applications and technologiesin the quantity surveying, commercial management industry, forexample BCIS, Cost-X, CEMAR - Experience in leading the pursuit ofclaims up or down the supply-chain, leading to successfulnegotiated resolution of the same - Ability to understand andarticulate Client requirements and their desired outcomes - Strongreport writing skills are essential and candidates who candemonstrate prior report writing evidence will be looked upon verypositively. Qualifications/Educational Requirements - Bachelor’sdegree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management or a similardegree in construction - Master’s degree in applicable constructionspecialism, highly preferable a construction law LLM or similar. -Ideally MRICS, MInstCES or equivalent qualified or working towardsChartership (not essential).
